This Is US Inspire exists to encourage people through creativity, communication, and faith.  Our desire is to inspire others to discover new skills, strengthen relationships, and grow closer to God through meaningful hobbies, handcrafted creations, and American Sign Language education.

 

"US" includes Gerald and Melissa Eichler.  This website is the next step in our journey to try something new together and discover hobbies that bring purpose and joy to our lives.  We realized the world around us is filled with wonderful and exciting opportunities to explore, create, and learn.  After walking through many struggles together, we discovered that the inspiration we found through crafts, hobbies, and creativity was something we wanted to share with others.

 

Finding something we both truly enjoyed was not always easy.  It took patience, honest conversations, and a willingness to step outside our comfort zones.  Through this journey, we learned to develop new skills by collecting gently used treasures, researching new techniques, creating projects together, and, most importantly, gaining a deeper understanding of each other.

Looking Ahead

 

One exciting part of our journey is the growth of our Communication section.

​

Gerald's lifelong passion is building bridges between the Deaf and hearing communities through American Sign Language.  After nearly three decades of teaching ASL, he is developing resources that include Biblical ASL Classes, ASL & Deaf Ministry History, Fingerspelling, ASL Vocabulary, and many other educational opportunities.  His desire is to help people communicate more effectively, understand Deaf culture, and strengthen relationships with one another while growing closer to God.

 

We have been happily married for 29 years and are thankful for the family God has blessed us with.  Our son, Garrett, and his fiancée, Lana, our daughter, Mallory, and her husband, Wesley, continue to encourage us each day.  Our home is also shared with our two playful puppies, Sage and Rosemary, who bring us plenty of joy and laughter.
